The Campbell Lake and Sand Lake overlays provide visual references for operating in one of Anchorage’s most active general aviation corridors. Based on procedures outlined in the Alaska Chart Supplement, these overlays highlight key VFR reporting points, frequency zones, and local routing guidance to help pilots safely navigate the residential and floatplane-heavy areas surrounding these lakes. The current version includes the Fire Island Route overlay, which depicts the commonly used VFR path between Fire Island and the Anchorage Bowl, supporting safe transitions through this complex airspace. Ideal for floatplane operators and low-level VFR flights, these overlays improve situational awareness and reduce traffic conflicts in a densely flown area.
